The Finance Standing Committee is an important Standing Committee responsible for overseeing and monitoring the financial affairs of the Grama Panchayat. Matters relating to the Panchayat's revenue, expenditure, budget, and financial management of development programmes fall within the scope of the Committee.

The Chairperson of the Finance Standing Committee is generally the Vice President of the Grama Panchayat. Other members are selected from among the elected members of the Panchayat in accordance with the applicable provisions.
